What is the Northern Lights?
The Northern Lights, also known as a Aurora Borealis, are a spectacular light phenomenon that can be observed in the night sky. It looks like a dance of colorful lights in the form of bands or curtains. The shape and colour of the Northern Lights depend on various factors such as a temperature, atmospheric composition, solar activity and geomagnetic activity. Most commonly, we see bright green bands of light, but other colors such as red, pink, blue or purple can also appear. The Northern Lights can be imagined as dancing colorful lights in the sky. It is as if we were observing flickering, shape-shifting bands or patches. It can have different colours, such as green, red, purple or blue.
The Northern Lights are the results of the interaction between solar particles and Earth’s magnetic field. This beautiful phenomenon gives the impression that the sky is burning or dancing when the colorful bands move like large curtains. Sometimes, we can even see swirling forms resembling flames.
